Shin Kushiya – Japanese Charcoal Grill
This is the place where we went to have dinner. They have quite a few branches and we went to the one at VivoCity. The restaurant is not too heavily packed with furnitures. Rather spacious at the entrance and also in between tables. Overall the ambience was not too bad, suitable for small group gatherings.

Kushiyaki Mori (Large) - SGD$49.80
A mixture of grilled meat and seafood. Fresh and served hot. The trick is to eat it shortly after they are being served. Its ok for the tongue to be scalded a bit. Its worth it. Trust me:)

Sashimi Moriawase (Large) – SGD$60.80
Second plate of sashimi for half price! This is the large one as the 50% discount was given to the cheaper plate. The taste of the sashimi salmon was simply… shiok! I could only taste the freshness of the sashimi without any fishy stench at all! There was a tinge of sweetness when eaten at its most original form without soy sauce or wasibi.

Paulaner Brauhaus - A German microbrewery/restaurant/drinking pub with live band located beside Millenia Walk.
There wasn’t a live band on the day when we went there (Sunday) but there was still music of acceptable volume where we could still talk and had fun. If you wanna catch the live band (which is good!) remember to check out first.

Paulaner Brauhaus -

The 2 types of beers that we always order are: Munich Lager and Munich Dark. The one with a lighter and brighter tone of yellow is the Lager and the dark brownish tone is the Dark. I always take the Lager as it taste lighter and the aftertaste is less strong as compared to the Dark which is rather strong in its aftertaste. The alcohol content of Lager is only 0.2% less than the Dark.
There are 3 sizes to these beers. The one on the left is 0.5 litres and the one on the right is 0.3 litres. There is another one which is the 1 litre which is seldom being ordered for its size.

With beer and music as the basis, its no wonder that the guessing game will be such a natural game to play:) Its a test of the quickness of the mind + concentration and a certain level of the element of luck. Well, its just a game of probability.

Winning the game is not as important as winning the friendship. After all the draining tests of the mind, we cheers each other to a game well done!

Saving the best for the last. The climax of that day was the introduction of the birthday cake. It was just a slice as everybody’s stomachs were still full of sashimis and beer. And it feels much “closer” when we share the cake when each person takes just a spoonful of the cake:)
